3) Crusher: Crushes large oilseeds into small particles suitable for flaking.

4) Flaking Machine: Rolls the crushed particles into thin flakes, significantly increasing the surface area and disrupting the cell structure, facilitating subsequent steaming, stir-frying, and extraction.

5) Steaming and Roasting Pot: This equipment conditions raw billets after flaking by heating and moistening it to achieve the optimal temperature and moisture for pressing. It is a key piece of equipment for preparing billets for pressing.

2. Pressing/Extraction Equipment

This is the core oil extraction process. Depending on the oilseed type and process requirements, a pre-pressing-extraction or single-extraction method may be used.

1) Screw Oil Press Machine:

Function: Suitable for pre-pressing high-oil-content seeds, extracting a portion of the oil (approximately 60-70%) and producing a pre-pressed cake (with a residual oil content of 12-18%) for the oil solvent extraction process.

Advantages: Large processing capacity and continuous production. Huatai typically uses leading domestic or imported large-scale, high-efficiency screw oil press.

2) Oil Solvent Extraction System:

Function: Uses a food-grade solvent (n-hexane) to soak pre-pressed cake or low-oil content oilseed, almost completely dissolving any remaining oil. This is the most thorough and economical method for oil extraction in modern oil processing plants.

Core Equipment of Edible Oil Extraction:

Extractor: This core equipment, available in rotary and loop types, allows the oilseed to come into countercurrent contact with the solvent to extract the oil, resulting in a mixed oil (a mixture of oil and solvent) and a wet meal (defatted meal containing the solvent).

Desolventizer Toaster (DTDC): Heats the wet meal, evaporating and recovering the solvent, producing the finished dry meal. It also deactivates anti-nutritional factors (such as urease and trypsin inhibitors) in the meal.

Evaporation System: Heats the mixed oil, evaporating the solvent and separating it from the crude oil. This includes primary and secondary distillation, as well as a stripping tower.

Solvent Recovery System: Solvent vapors generated during the evaporation and degassing processes are condensed and recovered through a condenser for recycling, significantly reducing production costs and consumption.

3. Oil Refining Equipment

The crude oil obtained from pressing or extraction contains phospholipids, free fatty acids, pigments, and odorous substances. It must be refined to become an edible finished oil. The vegetable oil refining process depends on the oil grade requirements and mainly includes:

1) Degumming: Removal of phospholipids and gums from the crude oil. The main equipment is a oil refining pot or a centrifuge (disc centrifuge).

2) Deacidification: Removal of free fatty acids. The main method is alkali refining, which involves neutralization with alkali and separation of the soap stock through a centrifuge. Physical refining involves deacidification through distillation.

3) Decolorization: Removal of pigments from the oil by adsorption. The main equipment is a decolorization tower and a filter (such as a leaf filter).

4) Deodorization: Removal of odorous substances and free fatty acids from the oil by distillation under high temperature and high vacuum. This is a critical step in determining the flavor and stability of the oil. The core equipment is the deodorization tower (or deodorization system), which has the highest technical requirements.

5) Dewaxing/Winterization: Removal of waxes through cooling, crystallization, and filtration to prevent turbidity at low temperatures.
